The Milk
Milk, not water. That’s the whole secret.
Every bar of soap on earth begins with a liquid. For most soap — including most soap labeled “goat milk” — that liquid is water, sometimes with a scoop of powdered milk stirred in for the label. Ours is different: fresh Georgia goat milk is the liquid in every batch we pour. Never water. Never powder.
Why it matters in the shower
Goat milk brings naturally occurring fats and proteins that water simply can’t, which is why a whole-milk bar lathers creamy instead of squeaky and rinses clean without that tight, stripped feeling. Goat milk also contains naturally occurring lactic acid, and its pH sits close to skin’s own. The result is a bar that feels gentle on dry, sensitive skin — which is the reason this company exists in the first place.
The slow part
Fresh milk makes soapmaking harder, not easier. It has to be handled carefully so it never scorches, and every batch then cures for weeks on wooden racks — that’s what makes a bar harder, longer-lasting, and better-lathering. We won’t rush it, which is why small batches sometimes sell out. Worth the wait — promise.
